Twenty-one years of red pens, and still the first to read your book
Tere taught English language arts and journalism courses at Sturgis Brown High School for 21 years after working as a graphic designer at Black Hills Pioneer. She edits the way she taught: clear notes, a reason for every change and real respect for an author’s voice.
“Sharing a message is personal and it has value. Editing helps your voice come through clearly.”

Questions authors ask
How much does it cost to edit a book?
It depends on length and the kind of edit. For an 80,000-word novel, a copyedit is $1,200 and a proofread is $640. You’ll get an exact quote after the free sample edit.
What’s the difference between copyediting and proofreading?
A copyedit improves your sentences. A proofread catches the last errors after the book is laid out. Most self-published books benefit from both.
Can you help me publish on Amazon KDP and IngramSpark?
Yes. We set up both formats in your name, so your ebook sells on Kindle and your paperback reaches bookstores and libraries.
Do I need my own ISBN?
If you want to be listed as the publisher and sell beyond Amazon, yes. We buy them in your name at cost and register them for you.
Do you use AI?
Yes, as a second set of eyes. Tere edits every word of your manuscript herself first, then double-checks her work with Claude, an AI assistant. That extra pass helps keep our rates lower, and every change you see is Tere’s.
Will editing change my voice?
No. Every change is a suggestion in Track Changes with a note explaining why. You accept or reject each one.
