Owner and operator of Back to Nature Natural Foods Holistic Wellness Center 1996-2024, Jodi DeGroat Harris overcame numerous obstacles to her physical, mental, and spiritual life. The journey she took helped her relate to her customers’ needs in a defining way. She studied Herbology since 1986 and Energy Medicine since 1997.

Additionally, Jodi  consistently had radio appearances on KBHB, a local station, since 1998 with “Herb Talk.” In 2021, she shared key knowledge on KBFS/KYDT on her show “Naturally Speaking.” Jodi’s qualifications over the years have grown, including Naturopathy, Master Shaman, Spiritual Response Therapy, Reiki Master, and Munay Ki Practitioner, and Commercial and Graphic Artist.

Jodi unexpectedly passed away in 2024. This author’s page is dedicated to her memory and to showcase “The Healer’s Path.”

Path of the Healer by Jodi DeGroat Harris

The Path of the Healer is a reflective memoir by Jodi DeGroat Harris, a healer who shared her transformative journey in the natural health industry, spanning over 30 years. Her experiences included overcoming chronic health issues and abusive relationships, ultimately leading her to open her own health food store, Back to Nature. Jodi emphasized the importance of sharing healing stories as a means to inspire wellness in mind, body, soul and spirit.

She recounts her challenging upbringing, marked by a broken family and frequent moves due to her stepfather’s job, which impacted her ability to form lasting friendships. Despite suffering from respiratory ailments, Jodi discovered alternative healing methods that changed her life. She credits her grandmother as a pivotal figure in her early life, providing stability amidst turmoil.

Throughout Jodi’s journey, she faced various hardships, including an abusive marriage and health issues, but found healing and purpose through her dedication to natural remedies and holistic practices. She believes in the concept of the “Wounded Healer,” where personal pain leads to empathy and the ability to help others.

Throughout her life, Jodi’s mission has been to raise awareness about alternative health methods and guide others toward healing and self-discovery. This memoir serves as an invitation for readers to explore their own paths, emphasizing that pain can lead to empowerment and personal growth. Jodi concluded with a vision of future books to share more healing stories and methods, reinforcing that the journey to wellness is both unique and communal.
